  From the Hawarden Independent of Apr 25, 1929 Rev. D. Mouw, the oldest resident of Hospers, passed away April 16th following a short illness at the advanced age of 95 years. Rev. Mouw was born in Holland but he came to America when he was 40 years of age. When he came to America he preached in the Holland Language first at Holland Mich. Later he came to Sioux County and for four years he served as pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Sioux Center and in 1893 he accepted a call to the Presbyterian church at Hospers which he served for 18 years at which time he retired from th eministry . In 1922 he published a booklet containing much of his life's history. He is sruvived by one son, Peter Mouw of Hospers.
