Marlene Mary Kloiber - (Gossens) - Age 86, joined our heavenly Father in the early morning on Monday, May 29, 2023, passing away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Kimberly. She was born to the late Joseph and Marie (Van Lieshout) Gossens on Sept. 13, 1936, in Kimberly. Marlene lived her whole life in Kimberly and attended Holy Name Catholic School and Kimberly High School, where she was an excellent student and cheerleader. During that time, she also worked at Kokke’s grocery store. She worked at Kimberly Clark in Neenah and then Mid-tec in Kimberly, where she was a hard-working inside sales rep. As an avid golfer, Marlene once traveled to Nashville, Tenn. This was a trip that proved fortuitous, for it was on that trip that she met Tom Kloiber— she thought he was the worst golfer “ever,” but their passion was ignited, and the rest is 25 years of history. Once while golfing, Marlene got a hole in one at Fox Valley Golf Course.
Serving and being around other people was a passion for Marlene. She showed this passion through her bridge playing, stellar entertaining, and even being a scout leader for both Cub and Girl Scouts. Her giving nature was expressed in every facet of her life. She was a volunteer with Stephens Ministry, St. Vincent de Paul, and was a member of the Grand Chute Lions and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 60. She was honored to play a role in delivering flowers and transported donor eye tissue and also assisted with Oktoberfest activities. She was also incredibly active with Holy Spirit Parish and the Knights of Columbus. On fair days you could always find Marlene running the casino nights.
She is survived by her husband: Thomas; and her children: Jeff (Diane) Locy, Oshkosh; Charles (Anna) Locy, Centennial, Colo.; and Ann (Bob) Diaz, Loveland Colo.; stepchildren: Greg (Ann) Kloiber, Menasha; Ellen Wagnitz, Green Bay; Paul Kloiber, Rhode Island; Kathy (Tony) Kellner, Green Bay; grandchildren: CJ (Christian) Locy, Kaylee (Brent) Locy Boyd, Derek (fiancé Veronica) Diaz, Alex (Rayanna) Diaz, Joey Diaz, Garrett Kloiber, Amanda Wagnitz, Joe Kellner, Jim (Patricia) Kellner, Jake (Allison) Kellner; and great-grandchildren including Jeremiah, Elonna, and Branson. She is also survived by siblings: Paul (the late Bonnie) Gossens, JoAnn (Dave) Manley, Tom (Margaret) Gossens, Jeanne (Don) Erdmann, Mary (the late Sam) Lamers in addition to beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and special nieces, nephews and friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother: Frank (Charlotte) Gossens; as well as many aunts and uncles whom she loved.
A celebration of life is being planned for Sept. 16, 2023, at Fox Valley Golf Course! Please save the date and compile your stories to share. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St Jude's Children's Hospital in Marlene's name.
