    • Dula Zimmer, 97, of Algoma, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Bellin Hospital. The daughter of the late Melchoir and Annmaria (Clasen) Budde was born November 17, 1915 in Riceville, Iowa. In December of 1941, she married Urban Zimmer in Iowa. Dula and Urban lived in New York during WW II and she was one of the first welders assisting the War Effort. They lived in rural Algoma since 1963 and Dula spent many years in healthcare in Northeast Wisconsin, including six years at Hickory Grove Sanitarium. Urban preceded Dula in death in 1969. She was a member of the Door County Historical Society and loved antiques. Mrs. Zimmer was a faithful member of Holy Name Parish in Maplewood, where she was a member of the Altar Society.
