    Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we acknowledge the passing of our much-loved wife, mother, and grandmother Jane Marie Mathis, 68, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 due to breast cancer.

Jane was born to the late Clyde (Perch) and Lois (Miller) Fleming on July 13th, 1953. She graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1971 and she married her high school sweetheart Gary on March 31, 1973. They raised 3 children together and enjoyed watching them grow and flourish in all stages of life. When the children were growing up they enjoyed camping, baseball and family roadtrips. Jane had a fun spirit and was always playing games with her grandchildren. Most recently her favorite activities were watching her grandchildren play sports, having sleep-overs, going hiking and biking and having cookouts in the backyard. You could always find chocolate chip cookies on the counter or in the freezer, and her grandkids knew they could count on gummy worms anytime they saw her. She left a remarkable impression on the world and those who had the privilege to know her.

Jane is survived by her husband Gary Mathis, her children Jason (Kris) Mathis, Andy (Cassie) Mathis, Jenny (Bob) Kappell and grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Riley, Payson, Emmett, Warner, Max and Croix as well siblings Tim (Jan) Fleming, Jo (Mike) Hietpas, in-laws Jackie (Ray) Reiter, Bruce (Teresa) Mathis, and several nieces and nephews; She is preceded in death by her mother Lois, father Clyde, mother-in-law LaVerne, father-in law Jack and sisters-in-law Gail Balthazor and Barb Mathis.

The funeral mass for Jane will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St John Nepomoncene, 411 Vandenbroek St., Little Chute. A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. She will be buried at St Mary's Cemetery in Kaukauna. While flowers are appreciated, the family also welcomes donations to the Spierings Cancer Foundation.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the ThedaCare Cancer Center and ThedaCare Region Medical Center- Appleton Emergency Room.
