- Obit. De Pere Journal Democrat 1-18-1996 Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St. Paul Catholic Church for Sylvester (Bud) N ackers, 83, who died Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Ledgeview Nursing center. The Rev. Richard Shafer of ficiated and burial was in the parish cemetery with DeWane Cotter Funeral home handling arran gements. Mr. Nackers was born in the town of Wrightstown Jan. 24, 1913, to the late Martin and Mary Ne lessen Nackers. He married the former Leona Vissers May 24, 1938, at St. Joseph church in D e Pere. He farmed in the town of Wrightstown his entire life and was also employed by Din's E lectric during the War. He retired in 1975. Mr. Nackers was a lifeline member of St. Paul Cat holic church and the Holy Name society. Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Marjorie Dupont of Wrightstown and Mary Kim of Chicago ; two sons, Eugene of Eagle River and Edward of Appleton; foster children; 19 grandchildren ; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marion Zimmer of Milwaukee, Magdaline Eiting of Ho llandtown, Rose Verhagen of Little Chute and Mrs. Ernest (Anna Jane) Vande Hey of Kaukauna; a nd one brother, Howard of Wrightstown. He was preceded in death by a son Robert, a daughter M ary Lucille; five sisters, Irene Meulemans, Lucille Vande Hey, Lorraine Fale, Gert Spiering s and Mary Van Groll, and two infant brothers, Joseph and Albert. A memorial fund has been established.
