    • Floyd L. Baer, 77 years, passed away January 13, 2017 at Brewster Village in Appleton, Wisconsin with his family by his side. He was born May 17, 1939 to his loving parents Aloysius and Ruby (Heller) Baer in Appleton, Wisconsin. They settled in Potter, Wisconsin and he was a graduate of Hilbert High School Class of 1959. After a short stint in the US Navy he married the love of his life Rita (Pethan) Baer on September 30, 1961 at St. Charles Catholic church in Charlesburg, Wisconsin. Together they raised their family in Menasha, Wisconsin.

      Floyd was a second generation owner/operator of Baer Beverages Inc., Menasha, Wisconsin. He was a former member of the Wisconsin Wholesalers Beer Distributers Association, Board member of the Bank of Menasha, Knights of Columbus member, and a member of St. John the Baptist Parish, Menasha. He was an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Heckrodt Wetland Reserve. Floyd loved going to his granddaughter's school activities to cheer them on, watching Badger football or basketball, The Packers, spending time at the cottages on Post Lake, attending a NASCAR race or travelling throughout the United States.

      Floyd will be missed by his wife Rita, mother Ruby, children Duane (Beth) Baer of Greenville, Wisconsin and Karen (Bob) Matson of Cambridge, Minnesota, grandchildren Malina Baer and Katrina Baer, brothers Gerald (Helene) Baer of Wausau, Wisconsin and Harold (Loretta) Baer of Hilbert, Wisconsin. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      A Funeral Service for Floyd will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6 pm at the Wichmann Funeral Home - Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. Private entombment Highland Memorial Park. Family and friends may gather Tuesday, at the Laemmrich Chapel, from 3 pm until time of service.

      The family of Floyd thanks the staffs at Affinity Hospice, especially Nancy and Hillary, Brewster Village especially Angela and Beth for their loving and professional care of him.

      Memorials in Floyd's name to Heckrodt Wetland Reserve appreciated.
