- Ronald A. Guyette, 75, passed away at Manor Care West Nursing Home on December 28, 2016. He was born in Hortonville, WI to the late Stanley S. and Helen L. (Stephan) Guyette on November 10, 1941 on his mother's 18th birthday. They celebrated many birthdays together.
Ron lived in several places in Wisconsin, finally residing in Howard and attending East High School. He served in the U. S. Army and Korea. He met his future wife while stationed at Camp Drum, NY, now Fort Drum, NY. On October 7, 1961, Ron married Nancy R. Huff of Carthage, NY in Green Bay.
Ron worked for Green Bay Structural Steel for 38 years, from 1964-2002, as welder and lead man, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boiler Makers, Lodge 177. He enjoyed watching Nascar. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt and his son. He also played cards and shot darts. Ron was an avid reader of mysteries, science fiction and belonged to both reading clubs. He loved to fish at Kelly Lake, vacations in WI and Carthage, NY. He enjoyed dancing, country music, riding his Honda motorcycle and playing tricks on Nancy on April Fool's Day!
Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy; three daughters, Jamie Steeno (Ken Martin), Howard; Rhonda Hopkins, Bonduel; Robin and Jim Peters, Little Suamico; two sons, Ron (Kelly) Guyette, Suamico; Brian Guyette & friend Terry, Bonduel; 20 grandchildren, Adam Steeno, Tianna Egnarski, Liz Steeno, Olivia & Cameron Fonder, Jessica McKenna, Kara Martin, Stephen & Tammy Hopkins, Kersten & Shannon Heling, Max Peters, Ashley Lofton, Stacee Guyette, Chris Robinson, Amanda Surber, Erik Guyette, Samantha Brusky, Dave Fisher, Brett Brusky; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry (Sharon) Guyette, De Pere; Robert (Rhonda) Guyette, Little Suamico; Donna Guyette, Green Bay; Charlotte Guyette, Green Bay; sister, Barbara McNitt & Mac, Green Bay; sisters and brothers-in-law, Amy Huff, NY; John Swafford, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary; five brothers-in-law; 6 sisters-in-law in NY; one son-in-law, Dom McKenna, Howard.
A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held January 21, 2017 from 1 - 4 pm. at the Hog Barn at Doc's Harley Davidson. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name or plant a tree in his name. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com
