  • Notes
    • Charlotte Marie Josephs, age 90, Sherwood, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018. She was born on August 11,1927 to Melvin and Pauline (Surprise) Belonger. Charlotte wed Donald A. Josephs of Kimberly, on April 3, 1948 at Sacred Heart church in Appleton. Together they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage and were blessed with six children.

Charlotte loved her family and always put them before herself, always with her encouragement to have faith and trust in God. She had a great wit and loved being with her family and friends.

After her children had grown she was employed for 15 years at Lawrence University retiring in 1992. She continued to stay active with her family and many friends and interests in Top’s and groups at the Genesis Club and St. Elizabeth Hospital. She also enjoyed prayer time on Wednesday nights with Don at the Sacred Heart church in Sherwood. One of her encouraging responses to life’s ups and downs was “God is in control and He will take care of us.”

She is survived by her 6 children whom she loved dearly - Darlene (Dale) Frank, Kaukauna, John (Kathy) Josephs, Menasha, Barb (Arne) Carlson, Appleton, Gary Josephs, Kaukauna, James Josephs, Sherwood, his special friend Bev Strohmeyer, Mary Kurowski (Josephs) Appleton. She was blessed and enjoyed 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, many who had very special relationships with grandma. She is further survived by her 4 sisters-in-laws, Charlotte Belonger, Celeste Lamers, Rita Lemmers, Elaine Quella and brother-in-law Ray Josephs, many nieces and nephews, friends and family too numerous to mention.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald, his parents John and Mae Josephs, her parents Melvin and Pauline Belonger, her brother Howard Belonger, in-laws, Margret (John) Gloudemans, Blanche (Hap) Wendlandt, Evelyn (Les) Kachur, Gene (June) Josephs, Cliff Lamers, Carl Lemmers, Rich Quella, Doris Josephs.

The funeral liturgy for Charlotte will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E Fremont St, Appleton, with Father Jon Thorsen officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of Mass. A private inurnment will follow the funeral at the parish cemetery in Sherwood.
