      Age 79, died peacefully at her home, with family at her side, Monday morning, October 28, 2002. She was born August 30, 1923, to the late George and Mathilda (Minten) Ambrosius, in West DePere. Hattie married John J. Van Wychen on May 6, 1947, at St. Bonafice Catholic Church, DePere and they farmed in the Town of Kaukauna all of their lives. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska and was an avid attendee of the Warrens Cranberry Festival and was proud of her collection of Cranberry Festival Buttons of 30 years. Hattie was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and itÂ’s Christian Mothers, she volunteered at St. Nicholas School as a server for the hot lunch program, she founded the On The Go 4-H Club and was a member of the Town of Kaukauna Historical Society, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Freedom VFW Unit #7692 and was a volunteer for Home Care for the Elderly. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Nodji Van Wychen, Warrens, WI; Peter and Barbara Van Wychen, Kaukauna; George and Terry Van Wychen, Kaukauna; ten grandchildren, Tonya (Mike) Gnewikow, Kyra (Randy) Neumann, Shana (Ryan) Steele, Henry Van Wychen, Dr. Lee Van Wychen, Lori and Jill Van Wychen, Nicholas, Matthew and Becky Van Wychen; two great grandsons, Damon and Trey Gnewikow. She is further survived by two brothers, George Ambrosius, Jr., DePere; Bernard Ambrosius, Kaukauna; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Idabelle and John Bildings, DePere; Elizabeth and Norbert Van Hoof, Kaukauna; Florence and Bill Lancelle, DePere; a sister-in-law, Betty Ambrosius, DePere; six brothers-in-law, Norbert (Eileen) Van Wychen, Freedom; Jerome (Edna) Van Wychen, Kaukauna; Tony (Lillian) Van Wychen, Kaukauna; Rich (Betty) Van Wychen, Kaukauna; William (Bernice) Van Wychen, Kaukauna; Melvin Van Wychen, DePere. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Van Wychen, on December 8, 1999, a grandson, Marcus Van Wychen, in 1990, two brothers, Carl, in infancy and Ted Ambrosius, three sisters-in-law, Doris Ambrosius, Millie Van Wychen, Hattie Van Wychen and a brother-in-law, Peter Van Wychen. The funeral liturgy for Hattie will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, N4088 County Trunk E, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Friends may call at the church, on Wednesday, from 3:00 pm, until the time of the mass. There will be a VFW Auxiliary Service at 5:30 pm, Wednesday. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
