- Donald L. Nollenberg, age 83, Shiocton, passed away at his residence, with his family by his side on Thursday, August 04, 2011. Don was born on March 24, 1928, in Waupaca son of the late John and Amanda (Joch) Nollenberg. On July 17, 1974, he was united in marriage to Lois Weyers. During their 37 years of marriage he and Lois traveled extensively around the world. Don was a salesman for Unisource Corp, in Appleton until his retirement in 1991. He served his country in the US Airforce, in the Philippines. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Don served as a Board Member for the Village of Shiocton. He was a member and Trustee of St. Denis Catholic Church, and sexton of St. Denis Cemetery. He enjoyed duck hunting and fishing. Don was a director of Ducks Unlimited and was the founding president of Shadows on the Wolf and a founding member of Shioc Hunting Club. A lifetime member and past president of Twin City Rod and Gun Club, and enjoyed trap shooting with the Old Timer Team.
Don is survived by his wife Lois; four daughters: Donna (Peter) Schafer, Winneconne; Nanci (Lee) Stafford, Neenah; Mary (Rory) Pues, Greers Ferry, AR; stepdaughter, Linda Weyers, Santa Cruz, CA; son, John (Linda) Nollenberg, Neenah; stepson, Kurt (Sue) Weyers, De Pere; a brother, Keith (Betty) Nollenberg, Portage. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Russell Weyenberg and Donald (Betty) Weyenberg; Sister Leone Weyenberg and Marilynn Weyenberg. Grandchildren: Joe Graves, Sara Nollenberg, Nina (Billy) Rock, Katie and Chad Pues, Leah and Olivia Weyers, and two great grandchildren: Carter and Layla Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald J.; brother, Arnold (Diane) Nollenberg; sister, Alice Mathison; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert Weyenberg; Mary Anne (Emmett) Vandenberg; and La Verne (Clarence) Huisman.
Funeral Mass for Don will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
