    • David J. Thelen, age 65, formerly of Green Bay and currently a resident of Kellnersville, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his residence in Kellnersville.

      Dave was born on May 26, 1951 in Green Bay, son of the late Floyd P. and Geraldine M. (Schuh) Thelen. He was a 1969 graduate of Denmark High School. Following high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay. Dave worked as a computer programmer for the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewage District for 35 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the NRA, Manitowoc County Fish & Game and the Gogebic Lake Association. Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting and his cottage at Lake Gogebic in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

      Survivors include his ten brothers and sisters; Dan (Kris) Thelen, Michigan; Pamela (Robert) Timm, Wayside; Bruce (Becky) Thelen, Menchalville; Mary (Ron) Lemke, Greenleaf; Floyd E. (Jane) Thelen, Whitesboro, NY; Anthony (Cindy) Thelen, Reedsville; Peter (Sue) Thelen, Menasha; Andrew (Doreen) Thelen, Whitelaw; Ruth (Dale) Schwahn, Menchalville; Mark (Ranee) Thelen, Whitelaw; grandmother: Monica Thelen, Green Bay; 26 nieces and nephews; 38 great-nieces and nephews; 3 great-great-nieces; special extended family: Shane, Tina, Kari and their families; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; one niece: Kelly; one great-niece: Savannah; one great-nephew: Hayden.

      A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Rev. Maurice Mmegbuadimma will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
