    • Mrs. Catherine Gardner, 86, died this morning, after a long illness at the home of her son, Milan Gardner, 914 W. Bell Avenue. She was born August 11, 1867, in Milwaukee.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Valley Funeral Home the Rev. W.H. Gammelin, pastor of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, in charge. Burial will be in the Freedom cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.

      Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Walter Schwames, Birnamwood, and Mrs. Mathilda Gehring, Kimberly; five sons, Ray, Wausau; Lee, Knowlton; Elmer, Sun Prairie; Chester and Milan both of Appleton; two brothers, Ernest Stark, Appleton; and Jake Stark, Des Moines, Iowa, 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
