    • Relien (Kasten), Vivian C.Vivian C. (Kasten) Relien, 87, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, Septemb er 4, 2005 at Rennes Health Center. Vivian was born in Appleton, Wisconsi n, on January 23, 1918, daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel (Westpha l) Kasten. She married Gilbert J. Relien on June 3, 1939 and he preceded h er in death on June 25, 1990. Prior to an illness in 1969, Vivian loved bo ating, water skiing and spending time at her cottage on Lake Poygan. She a lso enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, traveling and collecting elephants.Vivian will be greatly missed by her sons: Steve (Shirley), Fort Worth, T X; Jack (Jean), Appleton and Chris, Libby, Mont.; brothers, Jim (Gina) Kasten, Lakeside, Calif., and Tom (Sue) Kasten, Oshkosh; grandchildren, Mi ke (Jennifer) and Jeff Relien; step-grandchildren, Amanda Blankenship a nd Samantha Farmer; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Alex Relien; and sister- in-law, Margaret Kreblein.She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph and sister-in-law "Tiny "; and brother-in-law, Jerry Kreblein.Private family services will be held. The family wishes to thank the sta ff of Rennes Health Center and The Renaissance, for their loving care of V ivian for the past 15 years.
