- Wayne "Beaver" M. Allen, 69, Green Bay, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Woodside Lutheran Home. He was born October 2, 1946, in Green Bay, to the late Arthur and Rose (Tarkowski) Allen. Wayne graduated from Green Bay Preble High School in 1964. In November of 1984, Wayne married Carolyn Hering. He enjoyed his work with H.C. Prange during his early work life and finished his working career working with Green Bay Transit. He was a kind, generous person, who was always looking out for others. Wayne took pride in selling roses for the Lion's Club to help with their Summer Camp in Rosholt. He was a devoted father to his children, and enjoyed the time he spent up at White Potato Lake with his family. On Sunday you could always find him at home watching the Packer games.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carolyn; daughter, Tammie (Scott) Hussin; brothers and sisters, Delbert Allen, James "Porky" (Mary) Allen, Carol (Joe) Hooyman, Fred (Tammy) Allen, Negaunee, MI, Eugene (Teri) Allen, Rosemary (Brad McCorison) Allen, and Roger (Cheryl) Allen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sandy Hering, Paul (Linda) Hering, and Kathy (Don) Donarski; along with many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Rose, one son, Randy Allen, his father and mother-in-law, Carl (Florence) Hering, and his brother-in-law, Tom Hering.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Friday, September 16, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepard Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.prokowall.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lions Camp at Rosholt, Aspiro, and Unity Hospice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Unity Hospice and Woodside Lutheran Home, along with Chaplain Bob Nooker, for all of the care they have given to Wayne.
