Andrew J. Hopfensperger 1336 W. Grant St. Appleton, age 80 died unexpectedly Thursday May 18, 1989, at AMC. He was born June 9, 1908, the son of the late Charles A. and Clara [Dick], Hopfensperger. He was vice-president and general manager of Hopfensperger's meat company until he retired in 1970. He was a former director of Walter's Brewery, Eau Claire, a life member of the Appleton Elks club, the VFW, and the National Rifle Association. He was veteran of WW II,And a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was married to Lucille Krabbe on December 7, 1942; they were married for over 46 years. Andrew enjoyed being with his family, hunting, being in the outdoors, and sharing his sense of humor with others.
Survived by 10 grandchildren; Susan, Nancy, Michael, Diana, Amber, Heather, Erin, Nathan, Mican, Andy, and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving wife , Lucille; three daughters and a son -in law ; Aubrey Morgan , Seattle , Washington ;Patricia Mohr-Davenport , Lake Windsor , Wisconsin; Jolene and Roger Kussmann , Eagle River , Wisconsin ; a son and daughter-in-law ; Andrew C. and Roseanna , Clintonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norman; and a sister, Loraine.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 22, 1989, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton with Father Ronald Colombo officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday until the cortege leaves for the church. A prayer and scripture service will be 7 p.m. Sunday. A memorial fund has been established for the American Heart Association.
