- Louise "Lou" Turek, 80, Ashwaubenon resident, died early Sunday morning, August 23, 2015 at her home. She was born November 17, 1934 in Green Bay to the late George and Cecilia (Lang) Blaney Sr. Lou attended Green Bay East High School graduating in 1953. She married James Turek on August 11, 1956 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, celebrating 59 years of marriage this month. Lou was employed at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College for 17 years until her retirement. She had a passion for golf and played regularly at Mystery Hills, Ledgeview and Mid-Valley Golf Courses. Lou was an active member of the Service League in Green Bay and a local bowling league. She never turned down the chance for a poker game and always enjoyed playing bingo. When Lou was younger she enjoyed the outdoors with her father and brother, especially camping, fishing and hunting. Her love of the outdoors continued in life with her love of dogs (especially Molly) and enjoying watching and feeding the birds. She and Jim were long time members of St. Matthews Parish.
She is survived by her husband, Jim and their four children: Steve (Dick Buckwheat) Turek, Eau Claire; Amy (Steve) Veilleux, Winslow, ME; Laura (Jeff) Schultz, Madison and Julie Turner, Winter Park, CO; five grandchildren: Sarah Warner, Zach (Naomi) Warner, Rebecca Schultz, Sam Schultz and Abi Turner; one sister, Patricia Wiesner, CA and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Blaney, Green Bay, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, George Blaney Jr. and one brother-in-law, Walter "Jack" Wiesner.
Friends may call at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., after 10:00 am Saturday until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday at the church with Rev. Robert Kabat officiating.
