At the conclusion of the services Rev Zohlen led the congregation in prayer for the deceased after which the casket was slowly borne from the church to its final resting place, beside her beloved husband in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs Schmitz , nee Justine Wiltgen was born, near Fredonia on March 10, 1860. After their marriage the couple went to Minnesota, where they spent five years, when they returned to Wisconsin and purchased a farm one-half mile west of Dacada where they made their home for many years. They later sold their farm and moved to Calumet County for a short time after which they went to St Cloud to spend their declining years. The couple lived there until April 2, 1923 when the husband died and Mrs Schmitz had since made her home with her children having spent most of the time in Sheboygan County. It was while she was visitng at the home of her daughter Mrs Feldcamp of Kaukauna, about a month ago, that Mrs Schmitz became ill. In her first illness she had taken by train to the home of her son Math Schmitz, near Glenbeulah, where she died.
Mrs Schmitz was a pious woman and her happy dispostion and pleasing personality won her many kind friends. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St Claudins Church. She was well known in this community, having been an occasional visitor here.
The survivors are four sons, Matt and John of Glenbeulah; jake of Grays Lake, ILL; and Neil of New Holstein and seven daughters, Mrs Henry Even, New Holsteing; Mrs Ed Dial, LaGrande, Oregon; Mrs Frank Kern and Mrs Adolf Flaim of Oakfield; Mrs John Junius of Chicago; Mrs John Feldcamp of Kaukauna and Mrs Walter Bartlett of Glenbeulah.
