    • Joseph Daun, 83, of Hilbert, ded Monday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, after a lingering illness.
      He was born on August 24, 1892 at Marytown, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Daun. On February 11, 1919 he married Mathilda Weber at Hilbert.
      After marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Chilton until 1948. His wife died on October 15, 1946. He moved to Hilbert in 1948 and was employed at the Aluminum Speciality Co., Chilton, for several years. Mr Daun was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Mens Club of the church.

      Survivors are a daughter Mrs. William (Patricia) Huebner of Evansville; a son Arthur of R. 3, Chilton; 12 grandchildren and five grandchildren. A son, a sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

      Funeral Mass will be Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, preceded by family rites at the Pfeffer-Wieting Funeral Home, Chilton. the Rev. Anthony Birdsall, pastor, will be celebrant of the funeral Mass.
      Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
