    • Vernon A. Schampers, 89, Green Bay, passed away Monday evening, Aug. 27, 2018, at a local nursing home.
      Born Oct. 25, 1928, in De Pere, he is the son of the late Norbert and Helen (VanEss) Schampers. Vern married Helen Busse in June 1948 in Green Bay. He had worked for many years at Charmin (Procter and Gamble). Vern was a long time member of Saint Willebrord Church. Vern will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, animals and his hunting dog. He enjoyed dancing the Polka with his lovely wife, Helen.

      Vern is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marsha Schampers and Cynthia (Mark) Buhl; several grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Sprangers and LeVerne (Norrie) Daniels; and one brother, Ronald Schampers.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Jimmy Schampers.

      Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 from 8:30am until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 10:30am at the funeral home with Father Ken DeGroot, O.Praem. officiating. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
