    • Struck by train and killed

      1904 Kaukauna Times dated 6/17/1904 John Micke a well known Dundas farmer was struck by train #17 on the Ashland Div. last Saturday and instantly killed. Micke had just started out to do some work in his district upon the roads and was struck while crossing the track at Dundas hill. He was badly crushed, one horse also being killed, the other managing to break away. The fireman on the locomotive saw Micke approaching the track, but supposed he would stop and let the train pass, as it was in full view of the road. No danger signal aside from the regular crossing signal was therefore given.
