- Sister Alice Ann Becker, age 73, of Kaukauna, peacefully returned home on Monday, October 30, 2006. She was born January 6, 1933, in Appleton, WI, the daughter of August and LaVerne (Martin) Becker. Sister Alice was a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in Manitowoc, WI, and later transferred to A New Genesis Community in the 1980s. During her career, Sister Alice taught in West Virginia, Nebraska, and in many locations throughout Wisconsin. After retiring from teaching, she became involved in health care and managed two assisted living centers, Madonna House in Appleton and Garrow Villa in Brillion. During her spare time, Sister Alice enjoyed reading, counted-cross stitch, traveling, and playing scrabble with her friends. Sister Alice was a loyal and active member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion, WI. Sister Alice is loved and will be missed by her sister, Patricia Noack; brothers, August (Ann) Becker, Jr., Earle Becker, Sr.; and Carl (Jenny) Becker; fifteen nieces; nine nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; dear friend, Linda Crane; and members of her religious community: A New Genesis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Becker, Sr.; sister-in-law, Patricia Becker; and brother-in-law, Erv Noack. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Parish in Brillion with Rev. Matt Simonar officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, November 10, 2006 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 A.M. Sister will be laid to rest at St. Marys Cemetery in Eden, WI.
