- Hortonville - Ronald "Ron" E. Dorow, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. "Today you will be with Me in paradise." Ron was born on April 8, 1937, in New London son of the late Edgar and Rose (Meyer) Dorow. On May 16, 1937, Ron was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dale. He was then confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville on March 18, 1951. Ron graduated from Hortonville High School. In 1959 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1963. On August 28, 1965, Ron married Diane Sauerhammer at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville. Ron drove milk truck for many years until he became a licensed cheese maker. He was eventually forced to retire following his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. Ron enjoyed word-finds, puzzle books and picking out hickory nuts.
Ron is survived by his wife Diane; children, Randy Dorow and Peggy (Joe) Zinkel; and a very special granddaughter, Tiffany Zinkel. He is further survived by sister, Mildred (Les) Hedtke, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Arlyn, Marvin, Ellen Kluge and Kenneth.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Alexander Starr, Dr. Nathan Munson and Dr. Craig Hendel for all the care and concern shown Ron during his illness.
Funeral services for Ron will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (752 Grandview Rd) in Hortonville with Rev. Ralph Rosenberg officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Dale Union Cemetery, Dale.
