- Lois H. Grill, age 88 of Clintonville, passed away Monday evening February 20, 2012 at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.
Lois was born on April 25, 1923 in Wittenberg. She was the daughter of the late Hans and Leonie (Westgor) Johnson. Lois grew up in Wittenberg where she graduated from high school in 1940. One day when coming home from band practice she met her future husband Maron "Bud" Grill and the couple were united in marriage on January 14, 1943 in Shawano. The couple moved to Clintonville where they both operated Grill Realty for many years. Lois was a faithful member of Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville where she was active in the church choir and helped to start the children's choir. She was also active in the community as a member of the "Lois" Club and the Golden Belle's. Lois was a talented seamstress. She really had a gift when it came to sewing and knitting. Lois loved playing bridge, reading, curling, traveling, golfing, spending time in Florida, and playing shuffleboard. She was also a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and cherished any opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include: Her Husband of 69 years: Maron "Bud" Grill, Clintonville; 2 Daughters: Nancy Baumgartner, Cincinnati, OH., Jean (Alasdair Kellie) Grill, Superior, CO.; a Son: Michael (Nancy) Grill, Appleton; 4 Grandchildren: Tim (Becky) Baumgartner, Pasadena, CA; Michael (Megan) Baumgartner, Cincinnati, Dr. Jennifer (Michael) Roberts, Milwaukee; & Sara Grill, Neenah; a Great-Grandson: Maron Baumgartner, Cincinnati; and a Sister-in-Law: Joan (Eugene) Woznicki, Appleton.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David; and a sister, Carol Sturgul.
Memorial services will be held Saturday; February 25, 2012 at 1 PM, at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville, with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Inurnment will be at the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of the services. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting her family with the arrangements. An online guestbook may be signed at www.eberhardt
