    • Van Lanen, Aiden

      Jesus wrapped His loving arms around our beloved Mr. A on September 22, 2015 bringing him home to His Father's house to jump around, play, run and sing forever. Born on August 13, 2009 in Milwaukee Aiden joined the Van Lanen family in January 2012 through foster care, and was adopted on December 5, 2013. Despite suffering a traumatic brain injury in early 2011, Aiden had an infectious smile and laugh that touched the lives of everyone he met. It was so infectious he was the sole member of his very own "Smile Club", daily receiving the famous fist bump from friends. Aiden loved flirting with all the girls he met, especially his girlfriends Disney Princesses Anna, Elsa, & Sophia the First.

      When he wasn't attending the "School of Awesomeness" earning his Bachelor's degree in "Amazing", Aiden enjoyed being read to, playing with his sisters, and just hanging out with his aunts & uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He also loved sitting with his dogs, Chloe and Sassy, watching his best friends on TV: Mickey Mouse, Bob the Builder, SpongeBob and Hop. Sports were one of his favorite pastimes. Aiden loved going to the basketball and volleyball games of his sisters and their friends at Green Bay Trinity and watching football - especially the Green Bay Packers on Sundays. Vacations were a blast for Aiden, be it boating on Shawano Lake or hanging out in Door County and Wisconsin Dells. Capturing hearts was Aiden's specialty which was obvious everywhere he went. It was totally evident this past summer when he spent a week in Florida at Give Kids the World Village visiting Universal Studios, Disney World and Cocoa Beach.

      Aiden is survived by his loving parents Brad and Rebecca (Bauer) Van Lanen, Green Bay; his loving sisters Mackenzie - age 13, Issabellah - age 9, and Keturah - age 7, Green Bay; paternal grandparents Kenneth & Donna Van Lanen, De Pere; maternal grandparents Richard III & Bonnie Bauer, Manitowoc; aunts & uncles Alexis (Patrick) Cox, Manitowoc; Shannon Bauer, Manitowoc; Melissa Van Lanen (special friend Eric Olson), Dyckesville; Benjamin (Jenny) Bauer, Two Rivers; and R.A. (Arianna) Bauer, Two Rivers; great-aunt Mary Beyer, Green Bay; special friends Allison Higgins, Green Bay and Erica Janisch, Green Bay; and many cousins.

      Visitation will be held from 4 pm - 8 pm on Saturday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. Visitation will continue from 2 pm - 4 pm on Sunday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 S. Oneida St. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 pm with Pastor Paul Pett officiating.

      We would like to thank our school family at Green Bay Trinity Lutheran and church family at Redeemer Lutheran for all your words of encouragement and prayers. Each of you held a special place in Aiden's heart. Special thanks to the staff at Unity Hospice; Dr. Matthew Theado and the staff at Bellin Pediatric Clinic East De Pere; the doctors and nurses at Bellin KidCare and Bellin Hospital Pediatrics; Dr. John Humphrey and the staff at Children's Hospital Wisconsin; the staff at Clarity Care; and Dr. Elizabeth Moberg-Wolffe for all the medical guidance and care provided over the last few years. Special thanks to the numerous social workers with Brown County Foster Care for all your support.

      Aiden was a blessing to us all who will be dearly missed and cherished forever.

      In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund is being established.

      "But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles;

      they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
