- Gerald E. Hanson, age 77, of Green Bay, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at home. He was born August 27, 1938, to Harold & Ida Hanson.
He graduated with the class of 1957 from Green Bay West High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for four years.
Jerry married Kay Ellen Stangel on August 29, 1964, in Green Bay. They celebrated 45 years of marriage together before Kay passed away on September 23, 2009.
Jerry was employed by Gateway and Roadway Trucking for over 30 years before retiring. He was a proud teamster. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with the crew at Lenny's and Cropsey's playing cards.
Jerry was a loving husband, father and friend. His family and friends were very important to him. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his two sons, Tucker (Mary) Hanson of De Pere and Blake (Kris) Hanson of De Pere; granddaughter, Abby Hanson of De Pere; his in-laws, Sharon (Michael) Gay, Eileen (John) Landwehr, Patricia (William) Moran, Sally (David) Mann, Frank (Patty) Stangel, Duane Stangel, and Scott Stangel, all of the Green Bay area; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Ellen; his parents, Harold & Ida Hanson; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Norbert Stangel and Francis Stangel-Ronk; and brother-in-law, Larry Stangel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 4:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 6:30 pm at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
