    • Lemke, Alvin "Big Al"

      Alvin Henry Lemke Jr., age 60, of Hortonville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his residence. Al was born on September 28, 1956 to Alvin and Jacqueline (Trambauer) Lemke Sr. in Appleton. He graduated from Hortonville High School in 1975 and worked at B & B Race Engines the majority of his life. On February 13, 2009 he was united in marriage to Lisa Suprise in Appleton. Al loved drag racing, playing pool, tinkering in his garage working on cars and going to WIR to drag race. He was one of the founders of Stephensville Street Rods. Every year he and Lisa would go to Winter Dance Party and a "50's" reunion in Iowa. Together they enjoyed 50's music and traveling out west.

      Al is survived by his wife, Lisa; mother, Jacqueline Jokinen; step-children, Jared Burton and Jordan (Rachel) Burton; step-grandchild, Silas Burton; siblings, Sheila (Karl) Otto, Linda (Ken) Thiede, John (Cheryl) Trent, Jennifer (Corey) Hietpas and Jim (Rebecca) Lemke and step-mother, Mary Pouwels. Al is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and many friends.

      Al was preceded in death by his father Alvin Sr.

      A funeral service for Al will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Borchardt Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville. Damon Brog will be officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
