- Raymond F. Ripienski, 88, of 420 Morris St. and a resident of Wisconsin
Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Mayo Clinic
Health System in Bloomer.
Ray was born April 2, 1926 in Cadott, the son of Emil and Adelaide
(Nabbefeld) Ripienski, Sr.
On October 18, 1947, Ray married Lois Ann Podhola at St. Rose of Lima
Church in Cadott. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II
in the liberation of the Phillipines. Ray worked as a barber in Chippewa
Falls for 23 years and also worked at Uniroyal for 20 years. Ray was a
member of the V.F.W. Post #1038, American Legion Post #77, Chippewa Rod
& Gun Club, Bow Hunters and the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council. Ray
enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially his trips to Canada.
Ray is survived by one son, Thomas James of Chippewa Falls; one
daughter, Donna Mae (Gregory) Krause of Chippewa Falls; one sister,
Genevieve (Ronald) Parr of Eau Claire; one grandson, Timothy G. Krause;
one granddaughter, Tami Rae (Timothy)Mathison; one great granddaughter,
Taylor Rose Mathison.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois on February 14, 2013 after
being married for 65 years; his parents; two brothers, Bernard and Emil
Ripienski, Jr.; six sisters, Dorothy Robertson, Lorraine Hofkes, Lucille
Sobol, Agnes Cote, Mary Ann Novak and Catherine Yerkman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5 at the Horan
Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Aimee Quirin Wollman will be
officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Military
rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday,
July 5 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.
