- Virginia Smith, 94, Neenah, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 20, 2013. She was born February 25, 1919, Little Chute, daughter of Walter and Katherine (Verkuilen) Wildenberg. Virginia married Gerald R. "Jerry" Smith on September 27, 1941 in Little Chute. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1987. Virginia worked for many years at Kimberly Clark Corp. in research and development. She was an avid golfer, ruthless card player, and daily crossword enthusiast. Virginia also enjoyed volunteering, traveling, and vacationing up north. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah, and the Catholic Daughters of America. Virginia is survived by her children: Lynn Smith and Richard (Mary Jo) Smith; two grandchildren: Nicole Smith-Angwenyi, and Neil Smith; a sister: Mildred Langedyke; and many other relatives and friends.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter: Joan Mary Smith; and eleven siblings.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Virginia's name.Virginia's family would like to thank all the staff on two south at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
