- John Weber, 89, retired Calumet County farmer of Rt. 3 Chilton, died Tuesday afternoon at Calumet Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He had been a patient at the hospital since Friday. Mr. Weber was born at Charlesburg April 1, 1867, the son of Arnold and Margaret Wild Weber. He attended St. Charles Parochial School at Charlesburg and was married at St. Charles Church April 28, 1903 to Miss Elizabeth Klinkner.
The couple lived at Charlesburg for a time after their marriage, operated a farm in the town of Woodville, Calumet County for a number of years, then moved to a farm in the town of Chilton 35 years ago where they had resided since. Mrs. Weber passed away Jan. 19, 1955. The couple had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1953.
Mr. Weber leaves two sons, Roland, on the homestead and Claude of Chilton; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Virginia) Mecklenburg, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Lawrence (Lillian) Schneider, Fredonia; five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Flemming, Charlesburg; and two brothers, Peter of McIntyre, Ia., and Nick of Appleton. One brother, Arnold, died June 15, 1956, and six sisters also preceded Mr. Weber ion death.
Funeral services will be held at the Pfeffer Funeral Home at Chilton and at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chilton. The Rev. Joseph Bartelme, pastor, will conduct the services and burial will be in the church cemetery.
