- Elizabeth (Betty) Hartsworm, age 95, passed away on May 11, 2105 in Appleton, WI with family by her side. She was born on February 21, 1920 the second oldest of eleven children. Her parents George and Blanch Schuh (McCulley) raised their family in Clarks Mills.
Elizabeth and Keith Hartsworm were married on January 26, 1942 and were married for 50 years before Keith passed away. Betty is survived by three children: Jane (Jim) Hayes, John Hartsworm and Julie (Michael) Mancione. She was a beloved grandmother to six grandchildren: Corrine and Michael Hayes, Rachel (David) Pantier, Allie Hartsworm, step-daughter Amanda Rausch and Mitchell and Grant Mancione. Betty was also the proud great grandmother of Jane, Evan, Erin, Stella, Amelia, Maisie and Calvin. She is further survived by two sisters: Grace Torrison and Beatie (Dornhaus) Lau; two sisters-in-law: Sharon Schuh and Joan Schuh and one brother-in-law: Owen Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Keith Hartsworm; her parents: George and Blanch Schuh; her brothers: George, Hal, Walter, Jack, Jim, and Charlie; her sisters: Marge and Sue; five sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law
She had a fulfilling career with the Hartford Insurance Company and in retirement served as a sacristan for Sacred Heart Parish, where she took loving care of the church linens for many years. She was also a frequent volunteer for the Salvation Army and Manor Care Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 1:30PM until 2:45PM at the church. Burial will take place immediately following the service at St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in Betty's name to the Appleton Area Hospice.
