- Vernon L. Amerson, Kaukauna, age 73, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. He was born in Wakefield, MI on August 5, 1943 to the late Vernon Ross and Fern (Belland) Amerson. Vernon married Billie Sue Danby in Crandon on December 7, 1963. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-70 and was a 44 year member of the Kaukauna American Legion Post 41. He was also a member of the 40/8 Club for 30 years. Vernon worked at Thilmany Pulp and Paper for 33 years until his retirement in 2003. He taught religious education for 10 years.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 53 years, Billie Sue; sons: Michael (Marianne) of Green Bay and Matthew (Kristy) of Appleton; grandchildren: Khalil "KJ", Alexis, Danielle, Trevor and Alexandria "Ally"; and siblings: Patrick (Mary), Michael (Kay), Judy (Jack) Walander and Susan (Jim) Arnoldussen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his daughter, Fern-Michelle Harris; grandson, Aaron Hunter Amerson; and brother, Steve;
Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 6:00 p.m. The Rev.
