- Frances R. Willems, 99, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 28, 2015 at Rennes Nursing Home. She was born December 9, 1915 in De Pere to the late Dennis and Cornelia "Catherine" Binon. At the age of 14 she left school to clean homes to help her family financially. On February 19, 1936 she married Louis Willems at St. Mary Catholic Church, De Pere. Frances was a faithful member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, De Pere. She also was a skilled hunter, avid reader and gardener, and liked a good hand of cards, and was very devout in taking care of her mother in Catherine's final years so as she could remain in her home. Frances family was so important to her, especially opening her home to them at Christmas, and making it so special for them all.
She is survived by her daughters; Ellen Monson-Seay, and Jane (Fiancé Al Kroening) Beno. Her daughter in law, Sandra (Ken) VerHagen, and brother in law Carroll Willems and sister in law Dorothy Willems.
13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis her husband, her son Jack, her granddaughter Kathleen (Beno) Triller, great grandson Benjamin Moegenburg, sons in law Peter Beno, Roger Monson, Robert Seay, as well as 11 brother and sisters.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive in De Pere after 9:30am Tuesday June 2, 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
