      Joseph Nejedlo Dies on Monday

      Rites Thursday at Wausaukee Church

      Wausaukee – Joseph James Nejedlo, 76, prominent Town of Wausaukee resident, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at his home. Although he had been in failing health for several months, his condition was not serious and death was due to a heart attack.

      Mr. Nejedlo had operated a farm at Wausaukee fro 55 years. For four years prior to 1924 he served as supervisor on the Town of Wausaukee board and also served on the school board for seven years, retiring from that position in 1912.

      Born in Brown County on October 22, 1874, he spent his early life there and moved to Wausaukee at the age of 21. For eight years he was a logging contractor before engaging in farming. In June, 1904, he married the former Mary Ann Edlebeck in a ceremony at St. Augustine’s church.

      Surviving with his wife are one son, Andrew, of Wausaukee; two brothers, John of Cooperstown and James of Pilsen, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Steffel of Pilsen, Mrs. Mary Buerschinger and Mrs. Matt Schlies of Green Bay; and five grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 8:45 a.m., in the family home and at 9:30 in St. Augustine’s church. The Rev. W. B. Polaczyk will intone and solemn requiem high mass and the Rev. Michael Joacowski will be deacon. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
      The body will be taken from the Morasky funeral home at Wausaukee to the residence Wednesday at 5 p.m., and the parish rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m.
