- Thomas M. Sturm, 72, lifelong resident of Green Bay, died Saturday, February 28, 2015, after a long illness. He was born March 13, 1942 in Webster Township in Vernon County to Arthur and Lucille (JaDoul) Sturm.
Tom attended Premontre High School before enlisting in the Marines. He served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. He was later employed by Proctor & Gamble, retiring after 25 years. Tom enjoyed fishing, his Canadian fishing trips, and loved the Packers. He had a unique sense of humor and a quick smile. One of Tom's desires was to do the Polar Plunge. He accomplished that on February 28, 2009. Tom left this world on February 28, 2015, the day of the 2015 Polar Plunge.
He is survived by his children, Vicki (Brian) Buzzutto, Tom (Megan) Sturm, Jade Sturm; three grandchildren, Rachel Sturm, Sydney Sturm, Nathaniel Buzzutto; a sister, Mary (Steve) Johnson; his extended JaDoul family; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lucille Sturm; and a brother, Paul Sturm. He was also preceded in death by Arthur and Orine JaDoul, Wayne JaDoul and Delores Thomas.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday. The Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Military honors will conclude the service. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
