- Gerald F. "Jerry" Schink, 78, of Appleton, was called into heaven with his family by his side on February 5, 2015. He fought a long, hard battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was born to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Kroenke) Schink on August 6, 1936. He was baptized and raised in the Catholic faith.
In 1953 he entered into the Marines. He continued his service for 8 years. He worked several jobs around the valley. Consolidated Papers (the flats in Appleton), Bergstrom's Pioneer Inn (Menasha), Lawrence University and he retired from St. Elizabeth's Hospital as a Systems Coordinator.
On May 30, 1987 Jerry married the love of his life and best friend Margaret E. (Goodhall) Anderson. They loved doing things together. They traveled to places like Hawaii and Ireland. They loved going up north to the cottage.
Jerry was a creative person who enjoyed working with his hands and wood. He loved working in his flower garden and watching the birds. He enjoyed building things from wood like Banana holders, pictures and shelves. It gave him a great pleasure to build things for his grandkids like rocking horses, airplanes and toy boxes. He loved it when the kids would ask for wood for projects they were working on. Jerry was an avid hunter. He enjoyed and looked forward to hunting with his son Scott G. Schink (who has preceded him in death).
He leaves behind his loving wife, Margaret Schink, daughter in-law Linda Schink (Appleton), grandsons Kyle and Noah Schink (Kaukauna), step-sons: Bill (Fiancé Kim Leech) Anderson (Little Chute), Gary (Brenda) Anderson (Kimberly), John (Sara) Anderson (Menasha), step-grandchildren: Donny (Lisa) Anderson (Kaukauna), Joshua (Fiancé Sara Hanstad) Anderson (Kimberly), Jason (Evelyn) Anderson (Menasha), Tyler Anderson (Menasha), Amber Anderson (Kimberly) and Emilie Anderson (Menasha), step great grandchild Savanna Anderson (Menasha), sister Joan Schink, brother Joseph (Kathleen) Schink, sister in-law Patricia Zehren, brother in-law Russell (Regina) Goodhall (MN) and a sister in-law Audrey Goodhall (WI), and many nieces and nephews.
