- AnnaMae Besaw
1930 - 2014
On August 14, 2014, AnnaMae Besaw (84), beloved mother, grandma, & great-grandma, passed away peacefully at her home in Eugene surrounded by the loving family she spent her life building. She was born on May 6, 1930 to the late Elmer & Agnes (Hart) Bins in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She married the love of her life, Donald (Gordy) Besaw on Oct. 21, 1950 at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church in Green Bay, where they lived & raised their 8 children.
In Jan, 1969 the family moved to Eugene. AnnaMae was a committed volunteer who gave her time at Sacred Heart Hospital and Saint Paul's Catholic Church for many years. She loved to bake and cook for family and friends. In 1998 AnnaMae & Gordy became snowbirds, spending 3 months in Arizona every winter with family and many new friends. Above all, she was a woman of faith and family, valuing prayer and love for God and family. AnnaMae had a great love for all people, including her many caregivers. Her marriage of 62 years was a great inspiration to her children and grandchildren. She was a very strong lady while enduring chronic pain for many years. She will be greatly missed, but is finally free of pain, and is at peace in Heaven with Jesus and our Dad.
Survived by her 8 children, Don (Lisa) Besaw, Kathy (John) Mize, Dan (Debbie) Besaw, Randy (Nancy) Besaw, Cindy (Dennis) Dixon, Julie (Jim) Hintz, Lori (Don) Kast and Cheryl Burr. 23 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Joseph Besaw.
