Otto Zoesch, 83, Town of Clayton, died peacefully at his home Friday, July 19, 2013. Otto had his wish of spending his last days at home in the care of friends and family. Otto was born April 11, 1930, in Butternut, WI, son of Otto F. and Marguerite (Friedrichs) Zoesch. He graduated from Park Falls High School in 1948, where he especially enjoyed sports and played varsity football. He marched in the inauguration parade for President Truman in 1948. Otto was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and attended the Ice Bowl. After graduation, Otto served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and then attended the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh for a couple years. He started his career at Marathon Corporation, Neenah, as an accountant and stayed with the company as it changed hands and names several times throughout the years, eventually retiring from James River Corp as a salesman. Otto was very successful in sales, receiving many awards which can be attributed to his hard work and dedication, but also in large part to his easy way with people and his wonderful sense of humor. On July 7, 1956, Otto married Theresa Lehrer in Shiocton, WI. Together they raised four daughters. Theresa and Otto loved traveling together and especially enjoyed spending February's in Puerto Vallarta. They celebrated 57 years of marriage two weeks ago! Otto was a man of character whose word was as good as any contract. His positive attitude and sense of humor endeared him to those who knew Otto. He always maintained his joy for life and positive outlook even though life threw him many curve balls. He lost his father when he was 10 years old and two years later his only brother Fredrich died unexpectedly. Otto's greatest heartbreak was losing his daughter Diane when she was only 15. He endured more than 20 surgeries with grace and dignity and few complaints. Otto always had a smile for anyone who crossed his path. Otto was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah.

Otto is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughters: Maryann (Bob) Zoesch-Garrow, Chilton; Lorraine (Bill Sturm) Zoesch, Appleton; and Rose Marie (Renny) Zoesch-Weigel, Neenah; two grandchildren: Otto Zachery and Zoe Rose Zoesch-Weigel; a sister, Kathryn (Gordon) Altenhofen, Eugene, OR; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Rosemary (Mike) Weninger, Van Dyne; Robert (Martha), Dennis (Elayne), Roger (special friend Sharon), and Rocky (Marilyn) Lehrer, all of Neenah; and Roy (Linda) Lehrer, Appleton; many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Otto was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diane; brother, Fredrich; sister, Anna May McAlpin; mother- and father-in-law, Blanche and Robert Lehrer; and brother-in-law, Richard Lehrer. They were all very dear to his heart.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass. Full military honors will be presented by the U.S. Air Force and members of the Neenah-Menasha Veterans Honor Guard following the Mass at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Larsen-Winchester Lions Club.

Otto's family would like to thank ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their care and kindness during his illness, as well as the Lions Club.
