  • Notes
    • Beatrice M. Wittlin, age 84, of Black Creek, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Bea was born on October 24, 1930, in Eagle River, to the late George and Caroline (Punches) Alsteen. She attended school in Rhinelander and was married to Clarence "Bud" Wittlin there in 1954. The couple moved to Black Creek where Bea and Bud raised their family and operated the family farm until the present day.

Bea enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed time spent with friends and traveling West each fall to Deadwood, South Dakota. "A friend in need is a friend indeed" was Bea's favorite expression and she lived her life on this moral concept. She was always offering to help with rides, meals, visits and babysitting. Bea will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bud; her children, Denice (Rick) A. Lorenz, Greenville; William "Bill" Wittlin, Black Creek; Rita Nuttall, Atlanta, Georgia; Ann Wittlin, Boston, Massachusetts; and Michael Wittlin of Black Creek; her three grandchildren, Jared and Brittany Nuttall and Jonathon Lorenz; and her sisters, Genevieve, Melva, Judy and Janet. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bud, Herb and Gene, and her sister Evelyn.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC COMMUNITY—STEPHENSVILLE, N3686 State Road 76, Hortonville, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Greenville First Responders and to the staff of the Emergency Room at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their loving care.
