Age 75, died Thursday, June 27, 1985 at Parkside Care Center, Little Chute. He was born September 30, 1909 at Sherwood, and had lived and worked in Calumet County all of his life where he was engaged in farming, operating a slaughter house, and had been a field man for the Dundas Canning Co. for many years.
Surviviors include four daughters; Mrs. Harold [Gloria] Lauer, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Gene [Phyllis] Blank, Marshall; Mrs. Robert [Lois] Wolf, Kiel; Mrs. David [Ila] Manderscheid, Brillion; a brother, Daniel Hopfensperger, Appleton; three sisters; Mrs. Catherine Vanderlinden and Caroline Wiedenhaupt, both of Appleton; Marie Seidling, Wild Rose; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvera in 1983, and three brothers, Andrew, Herman and George. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood with the Rev. Ken Frozena officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Woodville. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and on Saturday morning until the cortege leaves for the church. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
