    • Norbert J. Killian (Nub), age 93, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2013 at St. Paul Assisted Living. Norbert was born in Kaukauna on August 2, 1919, son of the late Henry and Mary (Wagner) Killian.
After High School, Norbert furthered his education attending University of Wisconsin, Madison; Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago; University of Florence, Florence, Italy; and Lawrence College, majoring in architecture.
Norbert was employed in architecture and design work for various firms, including Thilmany, Central States, George Narovec Associates and R. N. Le Vee and Associates.
He was extremely proud of his military service as a Captain in the U. S. Army, serving in both North Africa and Italy.
Norbert is survived by his four nieces, Barbara Intorcia, Pat Grebe, Kathleen O'Brien and Eileen Courtney; as well as nine nephews, Richard, Kevin and James Killian, James, Matthew, Thomas, Daniel, John and Robert Courtney and also a special family friend Eileen Bierstekker and her family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mary Killian, his sisters Lucille (Robert) Courtney and Nathalie Killian, his brother Melvin (Ellen) Killian, and two nieces, Margaret Weber and Jane Courtney.
In his later years, Norbert spent a great deal of his time in his yard gardening and also had a great passion for antiques. One of his greatest highlights was attending the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington D. C. to see the memorials built in honor of WWII Veterans.
Norbert will be remembered as a quiet, yet very giving man.
We would like to give a special thanks to the St Paul Villa staff for their kindness and compassion.
Memorial services will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com
