    • Elwin H. "Doggie" Dorshorst, age 79, passed Dec. 5, 2003, at House of the Dove in Marshfield. Services at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore, the Rev. John A. Wisneski officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Martens/Kundinger Funeral Home in Junction City.

      Born April 29, 1924, in the town of Rudolph in Wood County, son of the late William and Theresa (Kersten) Dorshorst. He attended Rudolph area schools.

      Married Isla M. Jadack on Aug. 5, 1947, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

      A veteran of U.S. military forces during World War II. He was one of the first artificial inseminators employed by Piper Brothers Company in Watertown. He also farmed from 1951 until retirement. Had been a 4-H Dairy Leader for Badger 4-H. Also active in the Holstein Breeders Association of Wood County.

      Survivors include his wife; one son, Charles (Donna), Junction City; one daughter, Diane (Elmer) Neises, Junction City; three sisters, Verna DeByl and Lucina (Ray) Breit, both of Wisconsin Rapids, and Noreen Zellner, Milladore; three brothers, Alois (ElMarie), Poynette, Ervin (Gwen), Wisconsin Rapids, and Duane (Theresa), Rudolph; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

      Also preceded in death by one brother, Eugene; and one sister, Margaret Marach.
