    • Joseph Robert Kessler "Joe", Menasha, 27, died Friday, February 10, 2017. He was born August 12, 1989, in Appleton, son of Mark and Peggy (Zimmerman) Kessler. Joe graduated from Menasha High School in 2007. He joined the National Guard and was proud to serve before being disqualified by a medical condition. Joe was an animal lover and had a special affinity for birds. He volunteered frequently at RoseBerry Bird Rescue, and could tame even the most difficult of birds. He loved his family cottage up north and would spend many hours fishing on the lake. He spent all of his free time with his beloved girlfriend, Micaela Reinwand. They had three wonderful years together, and Joe was welcomed into her family.

Joe endured many hardships in his life, but never lost his compassion for every living creature. His gentle, loving soul and huge heart touched many people from all walks of life. He had a razor-sharp wit and his intelligence allowed him to have spirited conversations with friends and family, whom he adored. Joe also loved to cook and create dishes for Micaela, friends and family. We are all better people to have known this amazing young man for his much too brief life.

Joe is survived by his parents: Mark (Vicki) Kessler and Peg (Mike) Ringer; sister, Angela Kessler and brother, Justin (Cassandra Schmidt) Meyer and girlfriend, Micaela Reinwand as well as other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S Commercial St., Neenah, with Rev. Dani Artez officiating. Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the RoseBerry Bird Rescue of Neenah.
