 | Kenneth J. Kerkhoff September 28, 1941 ~ December 9, 2023 (age 82) Kenneth J. Kerkhoff, 82, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Ken was born on September 28, 1941 to Mark and Dorothy (Hendricks) Kerkhoff in Hollandtown. He was a veteran having served in the US Marines. On April 15, 1961 he was united in marriage to Bernice Corey. He worked as an iron worker for 60 years. Ken was volunteer firefighter for 20 years. Most of all, Ken enjoyed his time in Crooked Lake and the pontoon boat rides with his family and friends.
Ken is survived by his children; Denise (John) Bast, Tina (Dan) Sabel, Kent (special friend Kari Werner) Kerkhoff, James (Dawn) Kerkhoff, Penny’s significant other Phil Gomm; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, brothers; Mark (Cindy) Kerkhoff, Dennis (Luanne) Kerkhoff, a sister-in-law Arlene (Leonard) Mauel, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bernice, three children; Kent Lee, John Mark, and Penny Rohm, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Martha (Bader) Corey, brothers; Dale Kerkhoff and Jack Kerkhoff, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Harold (Marjorie) Corey, Don (Barb) Corey and Jim Corey.
The memorial service for Ken will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 15, 2023 at the Verkuilen- Van Deurzen Funeral Home, FREEDOM LOCATION, N3972 Colombia Ave. A time of visitation held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
