- Howard S. Merline 85, 214 Jefferson Street,Oconto, died at a
Green Bay Hospital Saturday after a short illness.
He was born December 1,1891 in Oconto and was a lifetime resident.He married the former Jane Desjarlais.He worked
for Gilchrist Creamery and Holt Lumber Company for many years.
He also was a custodian at Saint Joseph Parish until his retirement.He was a member of saint Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife,Jane; two daughters,Miss Florence
Merline of Milwaukee,WI Mrs.Clare[Melva] Lince Pewaukee;two
sons,Howard A., Oconto,Sylvester, Camp Douglas;three sisters,
Mrs.Ruby Curran,Mrs. Mabel Graf,both of Oconto,Mrs. Lee [Helen]
Adams, Sturgeon Bay;14 grandchildren;six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Gallagher-Pinkart Funeral Home,Oconto,after 4:00p.m. today. Wake service 8:00p.m. tonite. Funeral 10:00a.m. Monday,Saint Joseph Church with the
Rev. Martin Fox,the Rev. John Bergstadt and Father Klein officiating,assisted at the altar by grandson Jay Merline and grand-nephew Michael Merline.Burial at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.Palbearers: grandsons,Lynn,Robin,Dean,Merlin,Bob & Bill.
