    • Age 89, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at St.. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Nellie was born in Rosmalen, Netherlands on February 27, 1913, daughter of the late Theodorus and Geerdina (Van Der Heijden) Langenhuijsen. On May 31, 1944, Nellie married John Van Helvoirt in Rosmalen; he preceded her in death on May 13, 1989. Nellie will be remembered by many as an immaculate housekeeper who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and reading western novels. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family meant the world to her.

      She is survived by two sons: Carl (Barb) Van Helvoirt of Little Chute and their children Sara (Matt) Pierce of Milwaukee and Michael (Jenny) Van Helvoirt of Port Washington; and Gary Van Helvoirt of Green Bay; two daughters: Alice (David) Evers of Combined Locks and their children: Kevin (Rheann) Evers of Combined Locks, Timothy Evers of Milwaukee, Julie (Tim) Vanderlois of Combined Locks, and Chad Evers of Combined Locks and his fiancé Elizabeth Sandoval; and Maria (David) Mitchell of Kaukauna; three great-grandchildren: Isaac and Alexa Evers and Tyler Vanderlois; a brother: Jan (Jans) Langenhuijsen; two sisters: Annie Heijnsbergen and Doortje (Wim) Heijmans; three sisters-in-law: Dina Van Nistelrooij, Annie Vanden Berk, and Tonnie Van Helvoirt; and a brother-in-law: Huub (Tiny) Van Helvoirt, all of the Netherlands. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 1989, sisters Sr. Heliodora Langenhuijsen, Dien (Jan) Wetser, and Theodora Langenhuijsen; brothers-in-law: Antoon Heijnsbergen, Martien Van Helvoirt, Martin Vanden Berk, and Bart Van Nistelrooij.

      The funeral liturgy for Nellie will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2002 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the hour of the liturgy.

      The family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire staff at St. Paul Elder Services. You cared for mom as though she were your very own. We will be forever grateful. A memorial fund has been established for Nellie at St. Paul Home.
