- Mrs. Margaret Buhl of Charlestown died Thursday after a long illness. The funeral under direction of the Pfeffer Funeral Home, was held from the St. Martins church, Charlestown Monday, the Rev. Beatus Baur, local pastor, officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
Margaret Woelfel Buhl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Woelfel, Oct. 2, 1851, in Germany and at the age of 18 years came with her parents to America and for a short time lived at Elm Grove, Wis. Later they moved to a farm in Charlestown. Margaret Woelfel was married to Frank Buhl at St. Martins church Feb. 15, 1876, and with her husband settled on a farm known as the Buhl homestead, where she resided at the time of her death. Mr. Buhl passed away June 26, 1933, shortly after they had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Feb. 16, 1926. Eight children were born to them.
Survivors are two sons, Fred and Joseph Buhl, Charlestown; six daughter, Mary and Katherine Buhl, of Charlestown; Mrs. Magdelena Lodes, Charlesburg; Mrs. Anna Wagner, Jericho. Mrs. Regina Schneider, Chilton; Mrs. Martha Ramminger, Crystal Lake; and twenty-four grandchildren.
Mrs. Buhl was a member of the Christian Mothers society, the members of which attended the funeral in a body.
