Age 70, died suddenly May 6, 1993. He was called by his Creator to his Heavenly home. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, where he was a substitute usher. He was a member of the American Legion, Little Chute, Post 258. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Johanna (Ann) Van Heeswyk Dollevoet; his sons: David, Mount Prospect, IL: Michael and his wife, Ruth and their sons' Chad, Todd and his fiancee, Jennifer , and Daron; his surviving family includes his brother, George and Martha Dollevoet, New London: Peter and Marie Dollevoet, Kimberly; Joseph and Sella Dollevoet, Little Chute; Ann Diedrich, Kaukauna; Elmer and Betty Dollevoet, Appleton: numerous special and dear nieces, nephews and god children: his wife's family includes: George Van Heeswyk, King; Elizabeth Wolfinger, Kimberly; John and Jacki Van Heeswyk, Appleton; Marin and Lou Van Heeswyk, Neenah; Robert and Audry Van Heesyk, Combined Locks; David and Pat Brown, Kaukauna.
His hobbie include bird watching, golfing, fishing and hunting in the company of his many friends.
He entered the US Navy in December 1940 and served through January 1946. His great love for the US Navy was a lifetime committment. During the past 10 years, he was a member of the USS Augusta Association and US Navy Memorial Foundation. Model airplane building and flying was a great interest. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and Valley Area Modellers Flying club. He was a volunteer at the Experimental Aircraft Association restoring WWII aircraft, presenting public programs and operating the Seaplane Base.
He worked as a watch maker in Illinois and Wisconsin. He became an instrument technician and boiler house supervisor at Riverside Paper Corp, Appleton. He belonged to the Quarter Century Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Minnie Dollevoet; a brother-in-law: Austin Diedrich; by brother and sister in law: William and Agnes Dollevoet and two infant brothers. Bart had the greatest love for his family and he showed precious care and concern for all, and many drew upon his strength. He was well known for his respect for his friends, neighbors and former fellow employees. The family expresses gratitude for physician Francis Van Lieshout, to Appleton Medical Center Physicians Lyons and Washer and nurses: Joyce, Judy and Jennifer who worked so energetically in his behalf. In tribute to his family proclaims Albert to be a kind and splendid fellow, simple and uncomplicated. We will honor your memory forever. In the words of John Dunne's Meditation of 1600 "Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therfore, never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee."
The Mass of Resurrection will be 10:30 am Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with the Rev John Doefler officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4 until 9pm Friday (TONIGHT) and again at 8:30am Saturday until the time of service. Legion Visitation will be 7 pm Friday with a prayer service following at 7:30. Military rites will be held after the Mass. Memorial funds for St. John Church and Grade School and the Mytonic Dystrophy Research have been established
