    • HAMPTON - Virginia Mae Hartzheim, 87, widow of James E. Hartzheim Sr., entered into eternal peace on February 13, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. After traveling the world with the military over 25 years, upon retirement, the family settled in Hampton in 1964. Virginia was active in community service, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, the Leukemia Society, American Cancer Society and the Hampton VA Medical Center Post Office. She is survived by six loving children; Jim Hartzheim Jr; Mick Hartzheim (Mary); Kathy Hutchison (Bob); Cheri Krapcho (Steve); Sandy Fitch; and Pat Hartzheim; ten grandchildren, Lee, April, Bobby, Amber, Meredith, Ashley, Mikey, Hannah, Kelli and Curtis; five great-grandchildren; and a brother Paul Skotzke of Appleton WI. A Christian Prayer of Resurrection will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 19, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 2105 Cunningham Dr, Hampton VA. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service, at the church. To Honor Virginia please make a donation to The Alzheimer's Association in her memory in hope that a cure for this dreadful disease will come soon.
