- Dorothy Hemauer, age 98, of Chilton, died on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born December 29, 1921 in Hilbert, daughter of the late Harry & Emma (Dunker) Broehm.
Dorthy married Herman Hermie Hemauer on November 21, 1939 in Hilbert, and they owned and operated Hermies Lunch north of Stockbridge for over 20 years. She later worked at Thiel Cheese as a foreman where she was happy to apply her people skills with all those she worked with.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge. She also belonged to the Christian Women and the Eagles Auxiliary in Chilton. Dorothy volunteered countless hours at the gift shop in Calumet Medical Center and devoted time cooking for the Chilton Senior Citizens group. She was a very friendly and social person who belonged to many Sheepshead card clubs throughout the area.
Survivors include her children: Tom (Rita) Hemauer, Lou (Judy) Hemauer, Judy (Gerry) Burg, Pat (Gerry) Bloedorn, Jackie Hemauer; 9 grandchildren; a sister: Gen Kiefer; a brother-in-law: Chuck Westenberger; and a sister-in-law: Mary Ann Broehm. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Hermie; 2 infant sons: Gary & Richard Hemauer; and 3 siblings.
Public gatherings will take place at a later date.
