    • George Hemauer, 89, Stockbridge, died Sunday morning after a brief illness.

      He was born June 18, 1887 in Stockbridge. He owned and operated the Hemauer General Store from 1911 until 1962 at which time he retired.

      Mr. Hemauer was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters, A.A.R.P., and the Golden Agers of Stockbridge.

      Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Clem (Helen) Schumacher, Stockbridge; and Mrs. Wallace (Jean) Eldred, Appleton; a son, Carl, Portland, Oregon; two brothers, Frank, Stoddard, Wisconsin; and Herman, R. 2, Hilbert; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, August 1975; and also three sons.

      The funeral was Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Stockbridge, with the Rev. David Koehne officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
